Global Studies at
the Model School gives our students the tools to
understand the processes of world travel and the
need to be citizens of the world. Students are
empowered to shape their world as the next
generation of global leaders in business,
education, government, and the non-profit
sector. Together with the Passport to the World
after school club Global Studies focus on
different countries around the world and
visiting their languages, costumes, culture,
people and places. Using written work as well as
video, and even virtual trips; our students are
presented with different ways of life with deep
historical, linguistic, ethnic, and religious
roots and today's need for transnational
cultures and multiple identities, fueled by the
communication of ideas and the movement of
people all around the world.

Model School
Celebrate Global Studies with a Parade of Countries and Cultures:
Students, faculty and staff
of the June Harless Center and Kellogg Elementary took time out to showcase
the different countries and cultures they have been studying.
The Model School
celebrates the world:
Global
studies, an intricate part of the 21st Century model had a day of
celebration at the Model School. Students shared with each other what they
have learned throughout the year. Food, music, and crafts highlighted the
event.

A visit from
Tanzania
Our good friend at Marshall
University Lucas Mwakajinga from Tanzania
paid a visit to our first grade to talk about life in
Tanzania an global connections. At the Model School
every grade studies a different country. First grade has
Africa. Students during the year explore cultures,
languages, religions, the arts of their assigned continent.
