First Lady of West Virginia visits the Model School:

Mrs. Gayle Manchin, First Lady of the state of West Virginia, along with member of the state board of Education, Cisco Systems, an local officials, toured the Model School on April 25th. The visitors had the opportunity not only to listen to Dr. Stan Maynard and his vision for education in the 21st Century, but also to visit the classrooms and see first hand the wonderful things that the children of West Virginia are doing at the Model School, as they prepare to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

 

June Harless Center celebrated its 6th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Dinner:

The June Harless Hall of Fame is designed to recognize educators and business partners/organizations that have contributed greatly their time and effort toward enhancing the education system in the state, especially the rural areas of West Virginia. Inductees into the Hall of Fame typically include one teacher, one administrator, and one business partner/organization who have provided extraordinary leadership to ensure the success of the education of all students in West Virginia. The Hall of Fame ceremony is a time to show appreciation and give recognition to those people who have been identified as outstanding contributors.

June Harless Center 21st Century Model School at Kellogg Elementary officially opens its doors:

A new wing of the school was added to Kellogg Elementary, while another wing was remodeled to become the state's first 21st century model school. One April 3rd, state county and local officials held a grand opening ceremony, giving officials and the public a chance to tour the school, and interact with students, faculty, and staff. Everyone had a chance to see a model of education in the 21st Century.
