The professional development provided for by the Harless Center and/or held on our Model School site is varied in content.  S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), reading, and global studies are among the content and pedagogy presented.  21st Century Learning skills,team building, and learning communities are also topics that have been included.  Our mission is to meet the needs of teachers and administrators progressing in the 21st Century learning skills.

 

        

Dr. Philip Vincent presents Character Education at The Model School:

Dr. Philip Fitch Vincent, known to many as the voice of character education, and to others as the Poor Dr. Phil, has more than 25 successful years of experience as an educator and an administrator, he has also authored, co-authored and edited several books. With an academic background in philosophy, religion, and psychology. Dr. Vincent has taught grades K-12 as well as being a site and central office administrator.  Dr. Vincent has done more than a thousand presentations and keynotes related to character education and moral development in more than 40 states, and Canada. The Following are clips from his presentation to faculty and staff of The Model School and Kellogg Elementary on school civility and character education.
