Freshmen accepted to H.E.L.P. are required to attend Summer Session II at Marshall University (a five week summer school session) beginning the second week of June. Students enroll in one college class. Students receive an hour of individual tutoring for that class each day in our state-of-the-art facility. Students also participate in afternoon small group college preparatory sessions at the H.E.L.P. Program each day. The group addresses improving basic skills in spelling, reading, written language, study skills and math. Every effort is made to utilize a multi-sensory approach to learning. Summer Prep acclimates students to the college setting and greatly improves the success rate of our students.
