@ H.E.L.P. A New Summer Session, A New Generation of Students Like in every summer before, incoming Marshall University freshmen and participants of the H.E.L.P. Program, complete the 6 week introduction to not only the university itself, but to the program and all that H.E.L.P. has to offer. Computer Labs Undergo a Much Needed Update The H.E.L.P. program has now one of the most up-to-date computer labs on campus. The two labs in Myers Hall have been furnished with new Dell computers, and a new Laser Printer in order to keep up not only with technological advances, but with computer labs across campus. The new computers run The Vista operating system, and provide a much needed improvement to the H.E.L.P. Program.
H.E.L.P. Celebrates 25 Years of Changing Lives The Higher Education for Learning Problems Program was organized in 1981. The Program has grown steadily form 3 dyslexic students at its conception, to over 200 Learning Disabled college students today. H.E.L.P. has also provided support to over 1,000 medical /law students and professionals, helping them to be more successful in their courses or to pass standardized examinations such as the USMLE, LSAT, and the Bar examination. The Program has worked with over 400 K-12 students, and has provided diagnostic evaluations for Marshall students and families in the community. To celebrate 25 years H.E.L.P. will have a “Meet the Tutor” meeting in Myers Hall on October 28 from 12:30-2:00 and a tailgate from 2:00-4:00 in Herd Village. All alumni, students, parents, and friends of H.E.L.P. are invited to join in on the festivities. Food and beverages will be provided. Lynne Weston Director, H.E.L.P.
Students organize the HELPERS Club The HELPER’S Club is made up of students in the Marshall’s HELP Program. The group enjoys getting involved with other organizations as well as doing volunteer work. As our Club successfully completes volunteer projects, it boosts the self-esteem of the people around us as well as ourselves. It helps our members because they know that they have helped others in the community. Please click
