HELPERS Club participates in the
Empty Bowls '06
Campain:

This banner
which was designed by Susan Duren, an art major in the HELP
Program was designed for the SGA’s contest for the “We
are…fighting hunger” campaign that is part of the Empty Bowls
’06 campaign. The banner is posted on Marshall’s campus behind
the student center and will be judged along with the other
banners from other organizations on campus. The winner of the
best banner for the campaign will receive a “100.00 monetary
award. In order to submit our banner which has a statistic
about hunger, which reads, “in the U.S., 1 in 4 people in a soup
kitchen line is a child”, we had to donate 50 cans of canned
food to the Student Government Association in order to be
eligible for the contest. The HELPers Club would like to thank
the staff of the HELP Program for donating the cans and always
be so supportive of our endeavors.
Pictured in
the photo from left to right are Susan Duren (designer of the
banner), Holly Wilson, Amy Weiss, Doug White, Rachel Kling, Sara
Kling and Meagan Bogacz. Sara Barker (the advisor of the HELPers
Club) would like to thank Susan for all of her hard work and
dedication and also thank the other members of the HELPers Club
who took time from their busy schedules to complete the banner.
