As a seasonal technician I was involved in a variety of wildlife/habitat management practices. 

I surveyed forester sensitive species, participated in censuses for the federally endangered Kirtland’s

Warbler, and telemetered Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes.  I also was a certified type II wildland

firefighter and Faller “A” Apprentice Sawyer.

I was involved in gillnet surveys determining the health of Paddlefish populations in the Allegheny and

Ohio Rivers in SW Pennsylvania.  Also, I was involved in determining fish assemblages of the

Monongahela River and its tributaries through the use of gillnets and through the use of backpack and

boat electrofishing.

September 2004-May 2006

I provided assistance in a variety of university lab activities including maintaining an ornithological

specimen museum, collecting and sorting macroinvertebrates, backpack electrofishing, data entry

in Microsoft EXCEL, constructing and checking mist nets, as well as constructing and maintaining pitfall

traps and drift fence arrays.
