MARSHALL UNIVERSITY LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES CERTIFICATE

Liberation of the Peon, 1931, Diego Rivera

A certificate program in Latin American Studies is a convenient way for individuals to add a consistent study of Latin American topics to their undergraduate credentials.  The  Studies program provides students with courses from various colleges and disciplines across the university.  The program allows students to advance their study of Latin American history: culture: language: and society and will serve as a preparation for a variety of careers and graduate school options.

Process:

  • Students who believe they have met the requirements for the  Latin American Studies Certificate should initiate the awarding of the certificate in the College of Liberal Arts office.  Once certified, a student must pay a $15 certificate fee in the Office of the Bursar, ask for a receipt, and bring the receipt back to the College office.
  • The Certificate is awarded at the same time as the students' graduation date.
  • The student will receive in the mail a diploma-quality certificate in  Latin American Studies.
  • The student's transcript will also show the award of an Certificate of  Latin American Studies.
