Assistant Director of Residence Life at Marshall University

Along with the Director, the Assistant Director (AD) of Residence Life is responsible for the management of an 810 bed first year student community on the campus of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. The AD’s responsibilities include student development programming, newsletters, supervision of one full time Residence Director and 22 Resident Assistants, shared after-hours on-call duties, enforcement of housing policies, supervision of professional office and student staff and co-management of administrative operations including budgets and facilities.

The AD also serves as a member of MU’s residence life team by participating in the planning and implementation of University-sponsored residence life initiatives.

In addition to traditional residence life experiences, the AD, during his or her tenure in the position, will receive training and experience in all aspects of student housing management, including budgeting, finance, facility management, and human resource management, to prepare for future career opportunities.

Salary range: $30,000 – $33,000 plus a fully furnished two bedroom apartment
