HOW TO APPLY

Thank you for your interest in Marshall University as a prospective employer.

Application instructions appear for each vacancy listed in the Recruiting Bulletins. Some positions, such as Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) non-exempt positions require completion of the standard Marshall University Employment Application. Other positions, such as FLSA exempt positions, may require other documentation such as a letter of interest, a current resume, and the names/addresses of professional references. Again, the specific application requirements are listed in the job announcement in the Recruiting Bulletins.

If required, a standard Employment Application can be picked up in Human Resource Services, 207 Old Main, One John Marshall Drive, Huntington, WV 25755.  Human Resource Services is ordinarily open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  If you are unable to come to campus, we would be happy to send you an Employment Application. Call us at (304) 696-2592, or send e-mail to recruiting@marshall.edu.   The Employment Application is also available in several formats for download from the Human Resource Services Forms Page.  The application can be returned to us by paper mail, e-mail or in person.  Applications must be received no later than the closing date, if applicable, for the job for which applying (for paper mail, this is determined by postmark; for e-mail, it is the date the e-mail is sent).  The address for paper mail is:

Human Resource Services
Marshall University
207 Old Main
One John Marshall Drive
Huntington, WV 25755-1065

The address for e-mail is recruiting@marshall.edu .

It is essential that you complete the entire application thoroughly and accurately. If more space is needed, supplemental sheets may be attached.  A complete application enables the Human Resource Services staff and the hiring officials to assess your qualifications.

You may wish to attach a resume to the application. If so, all information must be transferred to the application. Do not list "see resume" on the application.

An applicant needs to complete only one application, which will be considered active for one year.  Applications must be received by the posted deadline for the position desired.

It is the applicant's responsibility to notify Human Resource Services in writing of each and every position for which he/she wishes to be considered after the initial application has been submitted.  E-mail requests from persons who have already filed a standard Employment Application are acceptable.  These should be addressed to recruiting@marshall.edu.

Any changes, additions, or deletions to the original application must be done in person by the applicant. Marshall University is not necessarily obligated to interview all qualified applicants. Because of the large numbers of applications we receive, it is not possible to respond personally to each inquiry.

Completion of the Equal Opportunity Information Card is voluntary, and information given on the card will be considered confidential.
