TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Welcome to the Marshall University Training and Development top page. Training and Development focuses on processes and activities that help employees to perform their jobs in an excellent manner. Human Resource Services provides training and development activities directly or brokers them through third-party providers. The training and development process may include assembled workshops and seminars along with web-based and/or video-based training modules.

Human Resource Services may provide registration services for workshops or programs presented by other departments or organizations.  Please note that the appearance of such a workshop in the Human Resource Services listing is not a guarantee that such workshop will be provided as scheduled.  If a workshop provided by another department is cancelled, it is the responsibility of the department providing the workshop to notify registrants that the workshop has been cancelled.  Human Resource Services can on request provide the person responsible for the workshop with a listing of known registrants, but the responsibility for contacting them will rest with the providing department.

The performance assessment procedure for Classified and Non-Classified employees is supported through the Training and Development process at Marshall University. Through performance assessment we attempt to provide means for employees and supervisors to converse comfortably, plan for improved performance, and agree upon future projects and activities for the employee.
