The IT distribution share of CleanWipe has been updated to version 12.1RU4. This update supports uninstall of the latest production release of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4013.4013 and below.
CleanWipe is a tool that IT support staff can use to prepare or clean any supported Windows computer before installing Symantec Endpoint Protection. Symantec provides this utility to enterprise customers to assist with the complete removal of all previous Symantec products or when an installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) has failed. It is important to make sure the version of CleanWipe is at least as current as the installed Endpoint Protection product. For example, CleanWipe 12.1RU4 can remove SEP versions 12.1.4013.4013 and below. However Cleanwipe 12.1RU3 cannot remove SEP version 12.1.4013
Macintosh OS clients can use the RemoveSymantecMacFiles utility provided thru the Symantec support web page.
