We are… Students
In fall 2012, Marshall University recorded a total enrollment of 13,715 students, of which 41% were male and 59% were female. Our population was 72% undergraduates, 25% graduate students, and 3% first-professional students. White students totaled 84%, black 5%, and Hispanic 2%. Approximately three-quarters of Marshall’s student population were West Virginia residents, with a further 15% living in surrounding metro counties in Ohio and Kentucky.

We are… Faculty
Marshall’s 750 faculty deliver a student-to-faculty ratio of 19 to 1, and 84% of our instructors have a Ph.D or terminal degree in their field. Almost half of Marshall classes have fewer than 20 students.
We are… Staff
Covering 100 acres in downtown Huntington, West Virginia, Marshall’s main campus is home to over 700 non-faculty employees, who do everything from planting flowers and maintaining the grounds to managing Marshall’s budget.
