Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Configuration Change

Share

Informational message to individuals who have already registered for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). No action on your part is needed.

A recent configuration change to the Marshall University Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) system now suppresses verification requests when you are connected via the campus network.

This change bypasses the need to verify your on-campus logons to Microsoft O365 cloud-enabled services such as your student e-mail, Office365 ProPlus, and OneDrive for Business.

Approve sign-in request for 30 Days
When you connect from off-campus, your device or application will still generate a MFA verification prompt, but you should be provided a check-box option to ‘[ ] Don’t ask again for 30 days’. We recommend selecting this option only when using a trusted device; you should not select this when using a shared computer.

Engage with IT for additional updates
The Marshall IT team is continuing to prepare other campus services to use MFA to protect both University and personal data by securing logons with your MUNet account credentials. Be sure check for Upcoming MFA Service Updates via the main IT website www.marshall.edu/it or  connect with us on social media https://www.marshall.edu/it/engage/.
