Appalachian Rural Systemic Initiative (ARSI)
Marshall's College of Education & Human Services is a partner in this collaborative which provides instructional resources in mathematics, science, and technology to K-12 students, educators, and communities in economically disadvantaged counties.

Appalachian Collaborative Center for Learning, Assessment,& Instruction in Mathematics (ACCLAIM)
A collaborative project between Marshall and five other institutions to cultivate leadership for the improvement of mathematics in rural schools. Marshall is responsible for the teacher education aspect.

Appalachian Accomplished Teachers Project (AATP)
Designed to build upon the successes of the past and create new initiatives to recruit and support National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) on a statewide and regional basis. AATP is technology
based and supports NBCT candidates from every county.

IBM Learning Village
A technology-based initiative that links the WV Dept. of Education with Marshall, where student teachers as well as veteran teachers, will learn to use the IBM Learning Village, a new Web-based educational tools designed to drive higher student achievement.

Infinity Project
A national partnership between research universities, industry, government, and K-12 educators to help school districts incorporate modem engineering and technology into their high school curricula.

June Harless Center for Rural Educational Research and Development
Housed in the College of Education and Human Services, the Center has many ongoing projects for enhancing education in the southern counties in West Virginia; it also provides professional development in a K-8 school in the Dominican Republic.

June Harless Demonstration Site
As extension of Kellogg Elementary in Wayne County, it provides kindergarten, first, and second grade classes with videoconferencing capabilities; teacher candidates can view best practices.

Making a Job
7th, 8th, and 9th grade teachers participate in this workshop designed to bring entrepreneurship into the classroom through hands-on activities. The workshop taught by the Lewis College of Business provides materials for classroom implementation. 3 Graduate Credits. Tuition waivers are provided through the Kauffman Foundation.

Mini Society
Entrepreneurship workshop taught annually by the Lewis College of Business for 4th. 5th. and 6th Grade teachers, which provides participants with skills and materials to implement hands-on curriculum in their classrooms. 3 Graduate Credits. Tuition Waivers provided through the Kauffman Foundation.

Partnership Schools Project
A structured plan that allows the pre-service teacher, the K-12 teacher, and professors of teacher education and arts and sciences to join in a collaboration, via formation of professional development teams, that will enhance the educational experiences of the pre-service teacher.

Project MERIT-Mathematics Education Reform Initiative for Teachers
A five-year teacher enhancement project that continues and expands a prior NSF project to address the established need of middle school mathematics teachers to improve knowledge of the content of mathematics and how students learn mathematics.
