Duties
of Information Technology
- Create and maintain
a productive, dynamic environment for the use of computing, library and
related technologies in teaching, research and public service
- Create and maintain
an organizational climate and a working environment within the divisions
of Information Technology to encourage creativity, collaboration,
adaptability and cost-effectiveness in meeting Marshall University's
technology needs
- Administrative
responsibility for Divisions of Computing Services, Distributed Education,
University Libraries and Marshall University Technology Outreach Program.
- Participate as the
chair of Library/Computing Joint Management Committee, Information
Technology Strategic Planning Taskforce and state level Chancellor's
Instructional Technology Committee for Instructional Technology Strategic
Planning
- Consult with
campus-wide technology policy advisory committees composed of faculty,
students and staff
- Responsible for the
establishment and maintenance of vibrant working relationships with MU's
information content and service providers and technical partners in
industry, community, government and academia
- Pursue
internal/external grant funding for technology, serve as principle
investigator or project coordinator for Appalachian Regional Commission
grant for Advantage Valley
- Bell Atlantic grant
for Community Heath Networks
- Marshall
University's Technical Advantage Program
- Responsible for the
budget planning and management of Marshall University Library/Computing
Fee account
- Provide the vision
for selection of advanced technologies and Information systems for
Marshall University
- Maintain a national
presence in information technology as a representative of the University.
