The course covers customizing a course site, managing users, adding and organizing content, including multimedia. This is an abbreviated version the Design Centers created to distribute to students to familiarize them with common Blackboard tools.
Due to budget cuts in our area, Information Technology can no longer provide the annual payment for Turnitin.com. The current subscription will end July 2014. Blackboard currently offers an alternative called Safe Assign. You can use Safe Assign to prevent plagiarism and create opportunities to help students identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase. Safe Assign is an effective deterrent and educational tool.
Safe Assign compares submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify any overlap. This is based on a unique text matching algorithm capable of detecting exact and inexact matches between papers and source material.
