Dan Hollis is an associate professor in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He has been with the university since 1999.

Hollis has received many honors for both his teaching and creative work.  The 2000-2001 recipient of the Pickens-Queen Teacher Award at Marshall has also won First Place in the Video News category of the National Broadcasting Society’s professional competition five out of the past six years. In 2002, Hollis was named a fellow in the Radio Television News Directors Association’s Excellence in Journalism Education summer program.  

Among the courses Hollis teaches at Marshall are JMC 101: Media Literacy and JMC 402: Law of Mass Communications. 


Leah Clark Edwards is a West Virginia native and a 1984 graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.

She has worked for more than two decades in radio and television news, public relations, and advertising. She enjoys reporting on healthcare and education issues and was the recipient of Kentucky's Barry Bingham Senior Media Award for excellence in reporting on mental health issues.

Edwards is currently pursuing her Masters in Journalism at Marshall University and serves as a public relations specialist for University Communications.

She lives in the Barboursville area and has three children Rachel, Megan, and Drew.
