Special Edition Guest Editor - Keith W. Beard, Psy.D.


Dr. Keith W. Beard received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He completed an internship at the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Beard is currently an assistant professor of psychology at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. In addition to his teaching, Dr. Beard is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia. He has a small private practice, does consulting work, and leads organizational workshops. He specializes in the treatment of gay/lesbian/bisexual individuals and their families. Dr. Beard is a member of the American Psychological Association and the West Virginia Psychological Association. He has taken on various roles with organizations that work toward tolerance and acceptance of all minority groups. Dr. Beard’s research interests include Internet addiction, psychological factors in mass media, men’s issues, humor in teaching, and religion and psychology.
