Brother Ronald Jones participates in the "Donning of Kente: Celebration of Achievement" held at Marshall University on April 30, 2009.
All graduates were donned with a Kente cloth that corresponded to his or her degree. Commencement for the Class of 2009 will be held Saturday, May 9th 2009 at
the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, Huntington, WV, and will begin at 9:00A.M.
♦ Nupe's Facilitating Teams Receives Highest Ratings---3-peat!!!♦
In the spirit of doing everything in three's, Brother Ronald L. Jones, Fall 2005 initiate, and his facilitating team has received the highest rating within its agency nationwide, for the third year in a row! In addition to this honor, Jones is the YOUNGEST facilitator within the agency to receive this distinct honor and the ONLY member to receive this honor for three consecutive years! Team S.A.V.E. is comprised of 27 individuals of various cultural backgrounds and ethnicities, all of which were successfully trained and mentored by Brother Jones.

Brother Ronald L. Jones, Fall 2005 initiate, recently was accepted to attend the Undergraduate Leadership Institute of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., June 7th - 14th in Atlanta, GA. After completion of the Institute, the members of the Gamma Klass were named Kappa Fellows, the highest honor in the fraternity; a first for the Epsilon Delta, the state of West Virginia, and among the few in the mighty, mighty East Central Province, Congratulations!

Brother Maurice "Moe" White, Fall 2004 initiate, is stationed in Hawaii, but currently deployed to Iraq on duty with the United States Army. Brother White is currently serving as an E-4 Military Police Officer. Be safe Good Brother, and God speed.
♦ "We Are...Marshall" ♦

Brother Timothy Wilburn, Jr., Spring 2003 initiate, is now an Enrollment Advisor through the Marshall University Recruitment office. Brother Wilburn is a 2005 graduate of Marshall University with his B.A. in Finance. In 2007, he received his M.S. in Training and Development, and is currently working on obtaining his Ed.S.

♦ NUPE Serves On Council ♦
Following a special call meeting of Huntington City Council that included a length executive session to interview applicants for the District 8 (Highlawn) seat, Council voted 5-4 to place Brother Kirk Gillenwater, Spring 1999 initiate, in the seat previously held by P.D. Adkins. Gillenwater who serves only through Dec. 31 stressed the need to remove dilapidated housing and a reduction in crime.
