David G. Hofstetter
graduated from the University of
Illinois in
1959
with a
B.S. in Economics. Dave moved to Wood County West
Virginia in 1960 and has been a West Virginia
resident ever since.
In 1973, Dave relocated to Putnam
County and founded Parkline, Inc., a manufacturer of
non-residential metal buildings. Under Dave’s
leadership, the company grew from 35 employees to
120 employees with plants in Eleanor, WV and
Bristow, Oklahoma. Since 1988, he has been vice
chairman and chief financial officer of Coal
Fillers, Inc., a coal based producer with plants in
Raleigh County, WV and Tazewell County, Virginia.
Dave is also President of Indian Head II, an
Advantage Valley property developer.
Dave was a Putnam County Commissioner
1986-1988. He was President of the Commission in
1988 when Putnam County won the “Best Managed County
in West Virginia” award. In 2002, he was appointed
by Governor Wise to the West Virginia Economic
Development Grant Committee. Dave is a past
President of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce
and the Putnam County Development Authority. He is
a founding board member of Putnam General Hospital.
Dave has received the Putnam County
Chamber of Commerce “Mayo Lester Award” for
outstanding community service and the Putnam County
Development Authority “Person of the Year” award for
his contributions towards improving and expanding
business growth. In 1992, Dave was named West
Virginia “Small Businessman of the Year” and in 2003
he was named a “Distinguished West Virginian.”
Currently Dave is a member of the
Lewis College of Business Advisory Board and the
College of Graduate Studies Glenwood Foundation
Board of Directors. He is also co-chairman of the
Route 35 Improvement Committee.
Dave is also very proud
of his family. Dave’s late wife, Eileen, blessed
him with three daughters; Susan and husband, Jerry
Pearing; Jennifer and husband, Stu Fortner; and
Nancy and husband, Craig Welsh. His daughters have
given him with six wonderful grandchildren. Dave’s
wife Susie added a wonderful step-daughter, Melanie
and husband, Todd Richendollar. Today, Dave and
Susie reside in Kanawha County.
