Frank
P. Justice, Jr.
was born in Wanego,
WV in 1938 to Franklin Pierce and
Jeneta Ruth (Cooley) Justice. He
graduated from W.V. State College in
1967 with a Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration and from
Marshall University in 1977 with a
Master’s of Business Administration
in Finance.
Frank and Eva Mae
Hartley were married in 1960 and
have three grown sons, Kerry, Kelly
and Kevin. Frank began working as
reporting manager for Dun &
Bradstreet, Inc. in Charleston in
1960 and in 1968 moved to the U.S.
Commerce Department.
He was offered a
position with Ashland Oil, Inc. in
Ashland, Kentucky in 1970 and served
in various staff positions until
July 1979 when he was selected as
Vice President for Public
Relations. He held this position
until 1982 when he was appointed
Vice President of Ashland Services
Company, a division of Ashland Oil,
Inc. He was also selected as
Corporate Vice President in 1978 and
held this position until retiring in
1993.
Throughout his
career, Frank has been very involved
in Community and Civic Activities.
He is a former chairman and life
board member of the Kentucky Chamber
of Commerce and is a former board
member, chairman of the board and
life member of the West Virginia
Chamber of Commerce. He has been a
regional chairman, board member and
a member of the Executive Committee
of the West Virginia Roundtable,
Inc. and he is still president of
the Roundtable Venture Fund, Inc.
Frank is listed in
Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in
Business and Finance, and Who’s Who
in the South. He has been a long
term member and past vice president
of the Lewis College of Business
Advisory Board. He is also a member
of the John Marshall Society and the
Erickson Alumni Center Society at
Marshall. He and his wife Eva
established the Lowell Hartley and
Frank Justice Scholarship in 1995.
They also have established a
scholarship in memory of Macile Lee
Hartley, his mother-in-law, at WV
State College.
After retiring from
Ashland Oil, Frank wanted to get
more involved in Marshall. He began
working at Marshall as the Executive
Director of the Research & Economic
Development Center in 1993. In 1995
he took the position of vice
president for Development and in
2002 became the Director of Major
Gifts at Marshall. He later served
as a fund raising consultant for the
WV Chamber of Commerce.
Frank is now retired
and lives in Murrells Inlet, South
Carolina with Eva, his wife of 45
years. |
