Kathy
G. Eddy
is a native of
Harrisville, West Virginia and
currently resides in
Parkersburg. She graduated from
Marshall University with a degree in
Accounting in 1972 and became a
Certified Public Accountant in
1978.
Kathy began her
career with Robinson and Caltrider
in Marietta Ohio. In 1974,she took
a position with Ben C. Johnston,
Jr.,CPA, a sole practioner in
Parkersburg, WV. In 1981, Ben
Johnston incorporated his firm and
took in three additional
shareholders. The firm became
Johnston, Leach, McDonough and
Eddy. This is the firm Kathy is
still with today, now called
McDonough, Eddy, Parsons & Baylous,
A.C.
In addition to her
public accounting practice, Kathy
was recently elected to the Board of
Directors of Harsco Corporation
(NYSE:HSC). Harsco is a $2.5
billion industrial services and
engineered products company. She
also serves on Harsco’s Audit
Committee.
Kathy has been
involved in professional activities
her entire career. These activities
began with the Parkersburg Chapter
of West Virginia Society of CPA’s.
She then became involved with the
West Virginia Society of CPA s where
she has held every office including
president. She also served on West
Virginia’s Board of Accountancy for
five years; serving as the Board’s
President two of those years. In
October of 2000 Kathy became
Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA). The AICPA is the premier
national organization in the United
States representing in excess of
330,000 CPAs. She was the second
woman in the 113-year history of the
AICPA and only the second West
Virginian to serve as the
organization’s Chairman. She
continues her service to the
profession by serving on the AICPA’s
governing Council. She is also
serving as Chairman of the AICPA
Special Committee on State
Regulation.
In addition to
professional activities, Kathy has
been active in her community having
served as Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Camden Clark Memorial
Hospital, where she continues to
serve as a Board member, Chairman of
the Board of Directors of the
Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio
Valley and Treasurer of the
Education and Business Foundation of
Wood County. Kathy is also an active
member on the Lewis College of
Business Advisory Board.
Kathy has received
several awards including both the WV
Society of CPA’s Public Service
Award and Distinguished Service
Award. She also received the West
Virginia Hospital Association, Award
of Governance. In May 2002, Kathy
received the Distinguished Alumni
Award from the Marshall University
Alumni Association.
Kathy is married to
Edward McDonough who is also a CPA
and managing partner of McDonough,
Eddy, Parsons, & Baylous, AC. They
are the parents of two grown sons,
Ed and Brian. |
