Paul
E. Arbogast
graduated from Marshall University in 1969
with a BBA in Accounting. He continued his education and
became a CPA in 1970. He joined Ernst & Ernst, now Ernst &
Young, immediately after graduation. Today, Paul is retired
from Ernst & Young LLP and continues to serve as a Sr.
Advisor and Consultant to the firm.
Paul became Partner
of Ernst & Young in 1981 and Managing
Partner in 1988. His clients ranged from
privately owned businesses to some of West Virginia’s
largest publicly held companies. As Senior Advisor, Paul
consults with senior management and boards of directors of
selected E&Y clients. He also serves as a
litigation/arbitration consultant for entities involved in
disputes over accounting and auditing issues.
Paul is actively involved in several
organizations and is helping to lead economic development
for West Virginia. He is President and CEO of The West
Virginia Roundtable, Inc., an association of the CEO’s of
West Virginia’s leading business and educational
organizations. Paul is a member of the board of directors
and executive committee of MATRIC (Mid-Atlantic Technology,
Research, and Innovation Center) as well as Treasurer and
Chair of its Budget & Finance Committee. From 1999-2001,
Paul was the Chairman of the Regional Airport Business Study
Group. Since 2000, he has co-chaired the West Virginia
Business/Labor Leaders Coalition and is a member of the
Statewide News Advisory Board for West Virginia Media
Corporation.
As an active member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants, Paul has served on its
governing Council and Political Leadership Cabinet
representing West Virginia, Virginia and Delaware. He is
past-President of both the Charleston CPA’s and the West
Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Paul
remains active in the WV Society, co-chairing its Economic
Development Committee and serving on its Strategic Planning
Cabinet. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of
the Marshall University Foundation. Paul is a past board
member of the MU Lewis College of Business Advisory Board.
Paul and his wife Donna reside in South
Charleston and have two children, Andy and Shelly. Andy is
a graduate of WVU Law School and practices in Charleston
with Spilman, Thomas & Battle. Shelly earned her Masters
degree from Marshall University and is an early childhood
special education teacher employed with the Columbus, Ohio
school system. In Paul’s spare time, he enjoys golf and
flying his two single engine airplanes. |
