Timothy L. Haymaker grew up in Pineville, WV, a small mining town of 900 people.  He was born to Harry “Red” and Imogene Haymaker both native West Virginians.  Tim graduated from Pineville High School in 1965 and never considered going anywhere but Marshall University.  He graduated from Marshall in 1969 with a teaching degree.

Immediately after graduating, Tim began his first job with Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.  After one year in Cincinnati, Proctor & Gamble moved Tim to Fayetteville, NC.  Tim desired something more and after bumping into one of his fraternity brothers he decided real estate was his next venture.  He began working for The Bunch Company in 1972 and then became a partner of the real estate company Gainer, Kirtley, Haymaker and Co.  During his time there, Tim made many contacts at Ashland Oil and was offered the manager position of the corporate real estate department in 1977.  After nine years of traveling the United States making real estate deals Tim was tired of waking up in a different city everyday.  He realized he wanted to start his own real estate company which he did in 1989.

Today Tim owns Haymaker/Bean Commercial Real Estate, Pinnacle Development Company II, Haymaker Properties Inc., Haymaker Development Co. LLC, Castle Rock Inc., and Keyrock LLC.  Tim has partnerships with Beaumont Investments LLC, CHM Property Partners, Wall Street Partners and Beaumont Shoppes LLC.

Aside from all of Tim’s investments he is very involved in the community.  Tim has served on the MU Foundation Board of Directors, MU Society of Yeager Scholars Board of Directors and University of Kentucky Business and Economics Foundation Board of Directors to name a few.  He has been helped raise funds for the Greater Lexington YMCA, Urban League of Lexington, United Way of the Bluegrass and Boy Scouts of America.  Tim is a member of the John Marshall Society.  He has received the Laurin K. Weinberg Humanitarian Award, Jose Ferrer Memorial Award and Volunteer of the Year award by Commerce Lexington.

In 2000, Marshall President Dan Angel asked Tim to head up the Campaign for National Prominence.  This has become Tim’s passion.  The campaign ends December 2005 and Tim expects to surpass the goal of $100 million.

Tim married his high school sweetheart, Sandy Hill in 1969.  Tim and Sandy have two sons, Andy who is engaged to be married in early October and Matt (deceased) and his wife Stephanie, who have one son, Sean, who brings great joy to Tim and Sandy.
