David
E. Haden
began his business career at Standard Food Service
as a salesman opening up the Charleston and Beckley
markets, after which he became sales manager. When
approached by Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance
Company he accepted the position, thus leading to a
lifetime career in insurance. During his time at
Connecticut Mutual, David received many rewards
including, Life Members Leaders Club and was the
first agent to achieve Masters Club in West Virginia
with over $10 million of life sales in 1983.
In 1987, David decided to venture out on his own and
create RMI, Ltd., a multi-lined insurance agency. He
managed and built a sales organization which grew
from $350,000 to almost $2,000,000 of annual
commission. Today, David is the owner of i-Source,
LLC in Charleston, WV.
He has served on various boards in the community
such as Charleston Life Underwriters, Charleston
Rotary Club, City Holding Company, Edgewood Country
Club, Salvation Army Advisory Board and CAMC
Foundation. David has been a board member and past
president of the MU Big Green Scholarship
Foundation, current President of the MU Graduate
School Advisory Board and a member of the MU-Lewis
College of Business Strategic Management Task Force.
In 1992, David received the MU Alumni Association
Distinguished Service Award. He is also a member of
the John Marshall Society and the President’s
Circle.
He is actively involved in the Episcopal Church,
having served as SR Warden for St. Matthews, Vestry
Member and on Diocesan Council.
David and his wife Carolyn reside in Charleston,
West Virginia. David has two daughters, Sarah and
Amy, one son, David Jr., one step-daughter Megan and
one step-son Brad. David and Carolyn also enjoy
eleven grandchildren. They take pleasure in
traveling throughout the world. They look forward to
a trip in February 2007 to South America with their
lifelong friends the Gibsons, Gibsons, and the
Williams. |
