Glenn W. Hall was born in Keystone, West Virginia and moved at an early age to Ceredo. He graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1943 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. While serving in the 85th Fighter Wing of the 20th Air Force in the South Pacific, he began his college career attending De La Salle College in Manilla, Philippines.

In 1946, Glenn returned from the service and enrolled at Marshall University, graduating in 1949 with an accounting degree. In 1947, he and his high school girlfriend, Nancy Lee Ferguson, were married.

For a short time after college, Glenn worked for the First National Bank of Ceredo and later the Internal Revenue Service as a revenue agent.  In 1954, fulfilling one of his professional goals, he became a CPA and joined Somerville and Company.  In the 1980=s, he served as managing partner of the firm.  The youngest of the original partners, Glenn practiced there 36 years until he retired in 1990.

In addition to his accounting career, Glenn was also involved in developing a cable TV system in the Teays Valley area. In 1978, Glenn built an apartment complex in downtown Milton. He owned and operated this facility until it was sold in 2000.  After retirement Glenn obtained his Realtor's license and was associated with Best Realty Company in Ceredo.

Glenn was active in the West Virginia Society of CPAs as a past President. He co-authored and published a book of the 50 year history of the Society. He was honored with the Society=s APublic Service Award@ and a life-time membership. Glenn has served several years on the Lewis College of Business Advisory Board at Marshall University. He has served on several community boards, such as the United Way of the River Cities, Cabell Huntington Foundation Board, C-K Community Center Inc.,  the West Virginia Tax Institute, and the Governor=s Tax Advisory Board.

Glenn and his wife, Nancy, are members of the Marshall University AJohn Marshall Society.@ Glenn is also a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #110 of Kenova and a Beni Kedem Shriner.

Glenn and Nancy reside in Ceredo and are members of the First Baptist Church of Kenova. They have two married sons, Glenn T. Hall and wife Sandra of Bluefield, and William L. Hall and wife Lillie of Huntington. They also have three grandchildren and one great grandchild which bring an abundance of joy to their lives.
