HOW TO APPLY?1. Send completed online application form for admission to the L.E.A.P. Intensive English Program. CLICK HERE to complete the online application form. It's fast and easy. Just complete the form and submit. You can also print out the form and send it by fax or mail.
2. Send letter from a bank or bank statement that confirms that you have at least $15,000 (U.S.) for one academic year in order for an I-20 to be issued. Download the Affidavit of Support Form and send your bank document along with this completed form. We will accept a fax copy of these documents.
3. Send USD$100 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee payable by bank check or money order to MARSHALL UNIVERSITY. CLICK HERE if you would like to pay the $100 fee with a Visa/Mastercard using our secure online payment form. You can also print out the form and fax it to 304-696-6353.
4. A certified copy of transcript from your high school or college (both in the original language and English). A grade point average equivalent to B (above average) or above is preferred for admission to the L.E.A.P. program. If we anticipate there will be limited capacity for enrollment, students with less than a B will be denied admission. If you HAVE NOT completed an undergraduate degree, click here to see the qualifications you must have in order to be admitted to the LEAP program. If you HAVE completed an undergraduate degree, click here to see the qualifications you must have to be eligible for admission to the LEAP program.

6. If you would like to apply for undergraduate and/or graduate study at Marshall University at the same time you apply to the L.E.A.P. Program, visit the Center for International Programs website for more information about applying to Marshall University for degree study.
We recommend that you apply for undergraduate and/or graduate study AFTER you arrive to study in the L.E.A.P. Program. The Center for International Programs will provide you with academic advising and assist you with your undergraduate and/or graduate application while you are a student in the L.E.A.P. Program.
7. When we receive all parts of your application, we will send you an official acceptance letter to study at L.E.A.P. and an I-20 form. The I-20 form is used to apply for a student visa (F-1) at an American embassy or consulate. We will also send you an arrival survey and housing application. We will arrange airport pickup at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington or Charleston, West Virginia and assist you with your housing and arrival needs.
8. If you need an F-1 student visa to enter the U.S., you will have to pay the $100.00 SEVIS Fee AFTER you are issued a Form I-20 with your acceptance and BEFORE you apply for your visa. Visit the ICE website to learn how to pay the fee yourself.
9. The tuition balance must be paid in full before you are permitted to take classes.
