ACADEMICS
Marshall University conditionally admits students
without English proficiency who apply to a degree program at the
same time they apply to the L.E.A.P. Intensive English Program.
Students can choose from over one hundred undergraduate and graduate
programs, including Journalism, Biological Science, Business, Education,
Information Technology and International Affairs.
STUDENTS
16,000 students attend Marshall University, including
300 international students from 50 countries. Students come from
Asia, Middle East, Europe and South America. An average of 45 students
study full-time each semester in the L.E.A.P. Program. Class sizes
are small, usually no more than 15 students.
SERVICES
Student services are provided by the Center for
International Programs, including weekly activities, a homestay
program, immigration and academic advising and many other services
that add to international student life. Airport pickup is provided
free of charge to students arriving at the Tri-State Airport in
Huntington, West Virginia.
HOUSING AND MEALS
Room and board on the Marshall University campus
is around $575 per month which includes a double occupancy room
and 19 meals per week. Apartments close to campus are also available
with prices ranging from $350 per month.
ACTIVITIES
The L.E.A.P. Program also includes optional trips
to cultural and recreational points of interest throughout the semester.
There are weekend and evening trips to museums, shopping malls,
sporting events, music concerts, etc. Students also may go horseback
riding, bowling, picnicking and participate in various other activities.

APPLICATION
When we receive all parts of your application,
we will send you an official acceptance letter to study in the L.E.A.P.
Program and an I-20 form. The I-20 is used to apply for a student
visa (F-1) at an American embassy or consulate. Use
