The Marshall University Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Other Office
office is here to serve the needs of the Marshall University community. We
provide programs for both the classroom and campus environments.
Safe Space and Allies Project
The Safe Space and Allies Project is run out of the LGBTO Office office.
Participants in this project are given a sticker to be placed on their door
or in their office area. By placing their sticker, faculty and staff members
show that they are allies in the LGBTO Community. For more information please
call or visit our office. We are currently updating the Safe Space program.

Speaker Series
From time to time the Office brings guest speakers to campus to discuss
issues of concern to the LGBTO community. These programs are open to the
public and are intended to enlighten and inform as well as offer additional
views on an issue. If you would like to suggest a speaker contact the
Center.
Office Presentations
The LGBTO Office offers presentations to classes and other campus groups. These Presentations
include LGBTO related issues including coming out, homophobia, stereotypes,
and LGBTO life in the United States and Huntington. Our presentations can
address specific needs or areas of concern as well. For more information please
contact the office at (304) 696-6623 or
E-mail
Ray.

Coming Out Resources
If you are planning to come out to your friends and/or family, you are
invited to stop by our office in the basement of the Memorial Student Center
to gather resources that might make the process easier. We also offer
referrals to professional counselors through the Marshall University Counseling
Center located on the first floor of Prichard Hall.
Our library offers a wide variety of books, magazines, and films for your
use on a number of topics relating to LGBTO community. These topics include
HIV/AID, sub-cultural concerns, self help, coming out stories, biographies,
poetry, essay collections, and LGBT fiction. Our magazine selection varies from year
to year but includes current and back issues of The Advocate, Curve,
