Lavender Graduation Ceremony

The LGBTQ+ Office host its annual Lavender Graduation Ceremony to honor and celebrate the achievements and contributions of our graduating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning+ and Ally students. The Lavender Graduation Ceremony is traditionally held the week of Spring and any graduate or undergraduate are invited to take part in this annual celebration.

The 2024 Lavender Graduation ceremony will be held on April 17th at 5:00 p.m. in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse.

Lavender Graduation 2024 Registration Form

Below is the registration form needed to participate in our 2024 Lavender Graduation.

In this box, include your full legal name that will be included on your degree.
In this box, please put the name that you want to be called during the ceremony.
Please include the phonetic (sound) spelling of the name you would like called during the ceremony. Example: Destiny Tomblin (Dest-in-ee Tom-B-lin)
In this box, please put the pronouns that you would like us to use during the ceremony.
Will You Be Attending In-Person or Virtually(Required)
Please note that those who attend virtually will receive their cord after the in-person ceremony
What Degree Are You Receiving(Required)
In this box, please include the name of the degree, the college and the area in which you will be receiving the degree from. For Example: Bachelors Degree of Liberal Arts in Psychology.
Please put your Marshall University student ID in this box.
In this box, please include a statement that you would like to include in the power point that we will be showing during the ceremony. We are looking for students to talk about their own growth since starting college, personal experience with the community on campus, and how the LGBTQ+ community has affected you as an individual. This can be up to 4 sentences.

Include an appropriate photo that you would like to be included with your Statement of Growth on the power point during the ceremony. This can be a graduation photo, a headshot, or an appropriate selfie.
