Accessibility

All floors and stack areas of the Drinko Library are accessible to persons in wheelchairs, as are the Music Library and Graduate College Library (South Charleston). The entrance points to the Morrow Library stacks, Government Documents Department, and Special Collection Department (both in the Morrow Library) are accessible, but their stack areas are not; please ask library staff in those areas for assistance.

Online Catalog

The online catalog--which includes materials in all of the University Libraries--is available at terminals in each library, through the Libraries' homepage, and directly at http://mulibiiidb.marshall.edu/search/X (Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers only, not AOL). Please contact the University Computing Services Helpdesk at 304-696-3200 or http://www.marshall.edu/ucs/cs/helpdesk/ if you need aid installing your browser.

Help using the Libraries

Reference staffs are available in each library to help you find the information and material you need. You may also telephone the reference desks at the numbers given in Contact Information below, or use the Ask A Librarian e-mail reference service (http://www.marshall.edu/library/ref/email.asp). Although the reference desks may not be staffed as long in the evening as the rest of the library, you can call the circulation desks for general information.

Assistive Technology

Computer-based assistive technology is available in the Drinko Library Study Center, Room 154. Equipment and software offered include:

• Two PCs with color monitors
• Flatbed scanner
• Duxbury Braille Translator
• Braille embosser
• Zoomtext -- screen magnifier and reader
• JAWS for Windows -- screen reading software
• Openbook -- scans printed documents and converts them to speech
• Closed Circuit TV unit for sending enlarged print to computer monitor
• In addition, hand-held magnifying glasses are available at the Drinko Reference Desk
