Challenged, but retained on Wyoming (OH) high school district's reading list despite concerns about sexual content. After a second challenge to a different title, the district reviewed all books on reading lists. Staff members rated each book on its relationship to the course, its uniqueness, its appropriateness, and the extent to which it "could create controversy among students, parents, and community groups."

Removed from Roosevelt High School's library and classrooms in Wyandotte (MI) because it "is too sexually explicit." The school said the book went through several reviews and was approved for high school students before being placed on the assigned reading list for the class.
