Cataloging Department

The Cataloging Department is a part of the Technical Services Department and is responsible for the creation and continued maintenance of the libraries' catalog.

In 1984, the traditional card catalog was closed and MILES was born. It originally contained only monographic records, but in 1992 periodical records were entered and holding records attached to show patrons the availability of issues in our collection. The Cataloging Department also classifies, catalogs and physically processes materials in all formats for the University Libraries which consist of the Drinko Library, Morrow Library, Marshall Graduate College Library, and the Health Sciences Library. In 2008, the name MILES was dropped in order minimize confusion.
