LIBRARY INSTRUCTION-IT 101 MCTC-Bernice Bullock-Stephen Tipler-Sissy may observe
6:30 PM-9:00 PM (138)
 Stephen,

There will be a special speaker at 6:30, either Jan Fox or Arnold- and the speaker will last about 15 minutes (Jan or Arnold will talk about downloading music). Library instruction should last an hour to an hour and a half. Then Bernice will give them an assignment to work on for the remaining time- until 9:00 pm.

She would like them to be shown how to email an article to themselves and also how to use the digital sender.

I was wondering if we could get a tour of Morrow or simply some instruction for researching primary documents that might be useful for their project. For instance, a previous student of mine looked at letters between a WWI soldier and his wife. Students may also be interested in university mission statements and policies that might be telling in terms of what literacy practices were valued, say pre-1970. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks a lot. I feel like a chump, but am relieved that we can work something out. JMC 102 is different this year in that the class sessions are an hour and 45 minutes long. However, the library sessions and be 45/50 minutes as usual.

Section 202 meets Monday and Wednesday from 11 to 12:45. If possible I’d like to do the 25th and 27th of Feb. It could be either 11 to 12, 11:30 to 12:30, or 12 to 12:45.

Section 203 meets Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:15. This would be the 26th and 28th of Feb and could be scheduled for any chunk of that time block.

OK, thanks again. You are saving my butt if you can make this work for me!

Would it be possible to arrange an intro to literary research this spring for my ENG 350 class on Monday, February 25, from 2:00-3:15?  If that date is booked already for that time, when might you be able to schedule a M or W session in mid-February for 2:00-3:15?  The contemporary poet that the class will be studying this term is again Gregory Orr; Tim did the instruction for this topic in fall 2007 so it would be great if he wanted to do it again.

Thanks,
Katharine Rodier
