Our "Associates" (similar to “Friends” groups in other libraries) give vital support to our work by:
- helping stimulate private support;
- encouraging awareness of the importance of the Libraries to the community and the state;
- assisting in organizing programs, such as book and author talks; and
- fostering recognition of library workers.
In short, our Associates are a group who believe the quote attributed to Ray Bradbury: "Without libraries what have we? We have no past and no future."
Survey results tell us that the Marshall Libraries enjoy special affection in the hearts of our students and faculty as a safe, warm, service oriented place. Our libraries, however, also provide a bridge to all parts of the University and the world of information, not just for our students and faculty but also for the Huntington community. Whatever your interest--be it military history, business information, or philology--the library will try to meet your need.
We have been blessed with so many faithful friends and associates and we want to acknowledge their contributions, as well as invite others to join their ranks. Let us hear from you so that we may serve you better.
- Barbara Winters, Dean of Libraries
