Everyone at Marshall University has an MUID, including Marshall students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community patrons. The MUID is a 9 digit number.

How Does this affect Library Services?

  • Password: birthday in MMDD format (for example, if birthday is July 4, then password is 0704)
  Book Checkout:
  • An MUID (with photo) is mandatory to check out books. Anyone with an MUID (without a photo) will be directed to the Marshall University ID office in the Memorial Student Center, Fifth Avenue, Huntington, in office # BW9 to get their photo taken. The MUID office hours are Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm; phone is (304) 696-6843.
  • MUGC students should call the MUGC library at (304) 746-8910 or Toll-Free at 1-800-642-9842.
  Alumni and Community Patrons:
  • Alumni and members of the community should talk to Library staff at any of these locations: Circulation Desk at Drinko Library, Music Library in Smith Hall, or MUGC Library, in order to pay for a card and fill out the necessary forms. Checks and cash are the only forms of payment accepted. See the library checkout policy for more information.
  Points Card:
  • You must activate your new MUID if you use your card for Points (such as printing, copying, paying library overdue fines, etc.) To activate your card, visit the OneCard site at https://www.marshalluone.com.
