Jessie Browne Beard Powell was born 5/6/1915 has written an excellent family history which also appears in The History of Pocahontas County. I interviewed her at Traveller’s Repose(pictured) in the afternoon. We talked about the counties’ economic development, Cass, and other things of common interest such as Marshall University. The Traveller’s Repose was an Inn and stagecoach stop on the old Staunton, Virginia to Parkersburg, West Virginia Turnpike.
