                 March 16, 1880

My Dear Brother
               Your dear letter
came to hand last Friday.
I was glad to hear from
you. We looked for you
in Saturday and yester-
day ^then^ heard you were com-
ing by the way of Portsmouth
and would be up on the
Telegraph Saturday. We
thought that more probable
as the bad weather has
not had a tendency to im-
prove the roads and the
snow storm last week did
not make good sleighing
when you failed to ring
up on the telegraph I
