after waiting a long
time for Ned she went
home with Frank Morgan.
The next morning Ned told
Beck he could not get
away from the boys and
they went up to Morgan's
again. Ned went up to
the news office to get a
cigar. While he was gone
a boy from the mill,
sent by Gus and Pern
went to Morgan's and
inquired for Gus. on
being told he was not
there. he went away
and in a few minutes
returned inquiring for
Ned. The girls told him
he had gone to the
News Office. Then Gus
and Pern chased him
and took him in
