Gallipolis, O., June 13 1878
Jos. P. Aleshire
Dear son
Since writing
you last evening I have been informed
by S. A. H. that Jas E. Hubard and Em[?]
would probably go to Washington for the
purpose of hunting up the whereabouts of
the jewelry or at least to get all the informa-
tion possible in regard to it. I have written
McDevett to be on the look out for them
advising him that I would wire him
immediately on their departure. I think
we have [illegible]. dont hurry yourself to
leave there. but remain the full time. We can
throw things off a little if necessary or
at least have them in such a shape
as to be straightened out when you arrive
home
all well
