 I was going to ask you to
let Ned on Joe down
here and make me a visit
but I presume they cant as
Pa will be busy building and
they will have to attend the
Mill. should Ned or Joe come,
it will be necessary for them
to write or telegraph me when
they are at Nashville. So I
could here procure a pass
for them to come here which
they could not procure, without
my aid or the aid of some
military man who would
vouch them all OK--
    You did not tell me if
you considered me an Ab-
litionist. what did you think
of my doctrine in my last
letter or have you receieved
it-
    Tell Ned & Joe I would be
highly gratified to hear from them
occasionally. I know neither of
them do as much writing as I
do- and I could find time to
