penditure or it will not go to
his credit. Quite a large es-
timate was made for funds
to make certain repairs to the
building &c. at the post and
among other things detailed
in the report asking for the
funds to be appropriated.
"Repairing and plastering
the Commanding Officers Quar-
ters" was specifically mentioned
and separately estimated for
at a cost of several hundred
dollars. the reply to this report
of repairs needed &c. I re-
ceived a letter from the Qr.
Master General Washington
D.C. allowing most of the re-
pairs and appropriating
funds. and directing me to es-
