                       Gallipolis, O. June 4 1878

Dear Brother:
               Received your letter from Cincinnati,
and will attend to your commissions con=
tained therein, Saw Wilson today and
told him what you said in letter. If I learn
that Schrerin is in Middleport will go
up there on thursday.
              Nothing from Ewing yet. he has been about
from Washington am expecting to hear from
him every day. Have seen most of
Cir Committee. and all favor Ewing
Received letter from James Sedlie
for you today. he is for Ewing and
suggests Hainden as suitable place
to hold convention. I ^will^ answer his
letter and shall urge him to go for
Gallipolis as place, time to be fixed
at State Convention.
                Pa. has received quite an important
letter from Capt. T.H. Smithers.
