A typical example of the
routine documents signed by Confederate President Jefferson Davis. It
appoints R. Graeme the acting Second Auditor during the
absence to W. H. S. Taylor, the Second Auditor in the Confederate
Treasury Department in 1864.
A clerk prepared the letter and Jefferson Davis signed it.
