The United Confederate Veterans, or UCV, was a veteran's
organization for former Confederate Soldiers in the Civil War,
The portrait on the front is John Brown Gordon. A civilian turned
soldier, he became a trusted corps commander under Gen. Robert E. Lee in
the final days of the Confederacy. He went on to a distinguished career
in politics, serving as governor and senator and was active in veterans'
affairs. |
