   The front cover of the program from the first convention and reunion of the United Confederate Veterans, held in Chattanooga, Tennessee in July, 1890.
   The United Confederate Veterans, or UCV, was a veteran's organization for former Confederate Soldiers in the Civil War,
   The portrait on the front is John Brown Gordon. A civilian turned soldier, he became a trusted corps commander under Gen. Robert E. Lee in the final days of the Confederacy. He went on to a distinguished career in politics, serving as governor and senator and was active in veterans' affairs.
