LATROBE

The wife of coal operator, George Jones, named the village for her home town, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. (Doutt, Logan County, p, 57).

There were seven known fatalities in Latrobe:

       Mary B. Marcum, 44 years

       Otis Ramey, 49 years - Husband
       Mattie Ramey, 45 years - Wife
       Virgie A. Ramey, age not known - Mother of Otis Ramey

       Thomas Vernatter, 65 years - Husband
       Ethel B. Vernatter, 65 years - Wife

       Dora Wiley, 60 years
