Crusier Alabama Confederate States Cruiser The CSS Alabama		These are illustrations of  the CSS Alabama.    The first is one of the two known photographs of the vessel, taken in New Harbour, Singapore, in December 1863.     The rest are lithographs, line drawings or engravings made during the 1800’s. Some appeared in newspapers of the time, because of the public interest in the Confederate “pirate ship,” and others were prepared for books on the naval history of the Civil War.
