CONSTRUCTION PLANS  and SCHEMATICS OF VESSEL 290 Masts and Spars Inboard Profile Lower Deck Schematic Drawings		The plans of the CSS Alabama were copied from the original drawings at the offices of Hill, Dickinson Co. (successor to John Laird Sons & Co.) by William Stanley Hoole in 1957. Hoole made both  a photostatic copy, as well as a tracing of the originals.  Hoole’s copies are housed at the William S. Hoole Special Collections Library, University of Alabama, and are used with permission in this exhibit. Copies of the drawings were subsequently found in the National Archives.    The schematic drawings were prepared especially  for this exhibit for clarification of the original plans.
