The first preliminary concept sketch of a small three-bedroom two-story house for a client. The sketch depicts the front and side elevations, as well as the floor plans for the ground and second floors, of the structure. Architects prepared such drawings, typically done on flimsy tracing paper, after discussing what the client wanted in a house, ascertaining the size of the lot, and determining what the project might cost. Over the course of the project a number of such sketches would be prepared.
